President and Chief Executive Officer
Joe joined R1 in June 2013 and serves as President, Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors. To this role, Joe brings 20+ years of management experience and will drive continued operational excellence, technology leadership and value creation for R1's client partners. Joe served as Chief Operating Officer prior to May 2016 and was instrumental in creating and standardizing the R1 Performance Stack™.
Previously, Joe served as a Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations and Supply Chain at Applied Materials Inc. Prior to joining Applied, Joe held executive positions in global operations for Nortel Networks Corporation, a telecommunications equipment manufacturer, since 2006, including President of Nortel Business Services from August 2009 to February 2010, and Senior Vice President of Global Operations from August 2007 until August 2009. From 1993 to 2006, Joe held a number of positions at General Electric Company, a global infrastructure, finance and media company. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He also serves as a director on the boards for Singapore Economic Development Board and the Human Capital Leadership Institute.

Chief Human Resources Office
Bob joined in August 2016 as Executive Vice President, Human Resources. In this capacity, Bob is responsible for charting the course on talent development needs for transforming the commercial infrastructure in healthcare. Prior to R1, Bob was Executive Vice-President of Human Resources for Nuveen Investments, a leading investment management firm with over 1,400 employees. Prior to joining Nuveen in 2008, Bob was the Chief Human Resources Officer for Sears Holdings Corporation, the nation’s fourth largest retailer with $50B in revenues and 350,000 employees. Prior to joining Sears, he served as Senior Vice-President and CHRO for Dade Behring, Inc, a leading international clinical diagnostics company with $1.4B in revenues and 7,500 employees. Prior to joining Dade Behring, Bob was a Regional Vice-President of Human Resources for Frito-Lay, the snack food division of PepsiCo. Early in his career, he held Human Resource positions at both Spiegel Catalog and Kraft Foods.
Bob holds a Masters of Management degree (MBA) from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.A degree from Eastern Illinois University. He serves on the Foundation Board of Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago and is a member of the Advisory Board of Terlato Wines International, the #1 U.S importer of premium wine in the U.S. Bob has also been a long-term member of the Economic Club of Chicago. From 2005 to 2008 Bob served on the Board of Directors of the Human Resource Policy Association in Washington D.C. Bob is an avid runner and has completed the Chicago, Boston and New York Marathons.
Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer
Corey Perman joined R1 in January 2015 and serves as Executive Vice President, Compliance & Risk. Corey leads the company’s Compliance & Ethics program, focusing on operational excellence through transparency, collaboration, education, and accountability. Corey’s team is committed to building and enhancing compliant and ethical operations through a partnership-oriented approach with employees and clients alike. Corey’s responsibilities include addressing compliance, regulatory and ethical issues across all service lines.
Prior to joining Accretive Health, Corey served as Senior Compliance Officer and Legal Counsel at Downers Grove, Illinois-based Advocate Health Care (2010-2015). Before joining Advocate, Corey practiced law in the Washington, D.C. and Chicago offices of Epstein Becker Green (2001-2009). His practice focused on health care litigation, investigations and compliance. Corey began his legal career as a Trial Attorney handling ERISA litigation for the United States Department of Labor (1998-2001).
Corey has frequently presented at local and national health care programs and conferences on compliance and business ethics topics, including at the Health Care Compliance Association’s annual Compliance Institute. Corey completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and attended law school at Washington University in St. Louis.
Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
Chris joined R1 in 2013 and serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. In this role, Chris will help us deliver operational and financial excellence for our client partners and our shareholders. Chris Ricaurte also served as Senior Vice President, Revenue Cycle Operations prior to April 2016 and was responsible for the company’s centers of excellence in the U.S. and India.
Before joining Accretive, he was CFO, Silicon Systems Group at Applied Materials, Inc. Prior to this, he was President of Nortel Business Services, where he had also previously held the position of CFO, Global Operations. Before this, Mr. Ricaurte was CFO of CHEP Europe in London. Chris also worked for GE for more than 20 years, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, including CFO for GE Consumer & Industrial in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and CFO of GE's Industrial Solutions division.
