Joseph Flanagan
President and Chief Executive Officer

Joe joined R1 in June 2013 and serves as President, Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors. To this role, Joe brings 20+ years of management experience and will drive continued operational excellence, technology leadership and value creation for R1's client partners. Joe served as Chief Operating Officer prior to May 2016 and was instrumental in creating and standardizing the R1 Performance Stack.

Previously, Joe served as a Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations and Supply Chain at Applied Materials Inc. Prior to joining Applied, Joe held executive positions in global operations for Nortel Networks Corporation, a telecommunications equipment manufacturer, since 2006, including President of Nortel Business Services from August 2009 to February 2010, and Senior Vice President of Global Operations from August 2007 until August 2009. From 1993 to 2006, Joe held a number of positions at General Electric Company, a global infrastructure, finance and media company. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He also serves as a director on the boards for Singapore Economic Development Board and the Human Capital Leadership Institute.

Chris Ricaurte
Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Chris joined R1 in 2013 and serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. In this role, Chris will help us deliver operational and financial excellence for our client partners and our shareholders. Chris Ricaurte also served as Senior Vice President, Revenue Cycle Operations prior to April 2016 and was responsible for the company’s centers of excellence in the U.S. and India.

Before joining Accretive, he was CFO, Silicon Systems Group at Applied Materials, Inc. Prior to this, he was President of Nortel Business Services, where he had also previously held the position of CFO, Global Operations. Before this, Mr. Ricaurte was CFO of CHEP Europe in London. Chris also worked for GE for more than 20 years, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, including CFO for GE Consumer & Industrial in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and CFO of GE's Industrial Solutions division.

Tom Lesica
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

Tom joined R1 in March 2017 and serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Tom works across the company to ensure the highest standards of customer success and operational performance. His experience in both large and small-cap companies in public and private formats will be helpful in developing and managing our future growth strategy, as well as our inorganic growth efforts.

Tom brings a portfolio of 30+ years of experience as a proven global leader having demonstrated a consistent ability to strategize and deliver significant value. With extensive transformational, operational and technology expertise, Tom’s leadership has resulted in sustainable impacts to shareholder value, financial performance, customer service, operating excellence, as well as product and service innovation.

Before joining R1, Tom had most recently served as a strategic management consultant and advisory board member on several NY based private equity transactions, as well as a start-up cloud based social media solution in Cambridge, MA. Previously, Tom served as CEO of Global Shared Services at Wolters Kluwer, and before joining Wolters Kluwer held the position of Group VP of Business Operations & Global CIO, at Avaya, Inc. In earlier roles, Tom served as CTO & Chief Operations Officer at Accretive Commerce, Inc., SVP, CIO at J. Crew, Inc., and served as VP, Global CIO at Pepsi-Cola. He began his career at IBM.

Gary Long
Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer

Gary joined R1 in August, 2017 as Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer. In this role, Gary is responsible for R1’s customer growth initiatives, including sales, marketing, product management and solution development. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer at Premier Inc., where he developed and led the commercial organization. Gary created a professional and sustainable market-focused organization while leading the business up to and beyond its successful IPO in 2013. Under Gary’s leadership the business more than doubled its annual revenues. Prior to Premier, Gary served as Senior Vice President of sales and support for Surgical Information Systems and previously worked at McKesson Corporation, where he held a series of progressive leadership roles in product management, corporate marketing and enterprise sales.

Gary earned his bachelor's degree in Marketing from Auburn University and an MBA from Kennesaw State University. He resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

Robert D. Luse
Executive Vice President, Human Resources

Bob Luse joined R1in August, 2016 as Executive Vice President, Human Resources. In this capacity, Bob is responsible for charting the course on talent development needs for transforming the commercial infrastructure in healthcare. Prior to R1, Bob was Executive Vice-President of Human Resources for Nuveen Investments, a leading investment management firm with over 1,400 employees. Prior to joining Nuveen in 2008, Bob was the Chief Human Resources Officer for Sears Holdings Corporation, the nation’s fourth largest retailer with $50B in revenues and 350,000 employees. Prior to joining Sears, he served as Senior Vice-President and CHRO for Dade Behring, Inc, a leading international clinical diagnostics company with $1.4B in revenues and 7,500 employees. Prior to joining Dade Behring, Bob was a Regional Vice-President of Human Resources for Frito-Lay, the snack food division of PepsiCo.

Bob holds a Masters of Management degree (MBA) from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.A degree from Eastern Illinois University. He serves on the Foundation Board of Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

Jack Brock
Executive Vice President, Commercial Solutions

Jack joined R1 in October 2016 and serves as Executive Vice President, Commercial Solutions. In this role, Jack is responsible for the strategy, development and marketing of our solutions to drive value creation for our clients, market leadership, and continued growth. Prior to R1, Jack was Senior Vice President of Product and Technology Solutions at Highmark Health, a leading health and wellness company with $18 billion in revenue and more than 30,000 employees. In this role, he led a team of over 2,000 professionals and delivered technology solutions for the Highmark Health enterprise including its health plans, diversified businesses and corporate functions. In addition, Jack helped launch and grow HM Health Solutions, the Highmark Health technology company with over $720 million in revenue and a customer base that now includes 11 health plans and 9.7 million members.

Prior to Highmark Health, Jack was head of Application Services Global delivery at Hewlett-Packard where he was responsible for leading an organization of over 15,000 professionals and managing service delivery for clients around the world. While at HP, Jack served in a variety of leadership roles spanning strategy, operations, portfolio management and technology service delivery.

With over 15 years of experience in the field of information technology and professional services, Jack brings significant expertise in technology strategy & operations, product management, and solution design, development, and delivery — covering cloud, mobility, social computing and business intelligence/analytics. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Baylor University.

Sean Radcliffe
Executive Vice President, General Counsel

Sean Radcliffe joined R1 in February 2017 and serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Sean has over two decades of experience guiding corporations through a wide range of business and legal matters, including strategic planning, intellectual property protection, client and vendor engagement, human resources, mergers and acquisitions, and all aspects of public company compliance.

Prior to joining R1, Sean served as General Counsel at Ciber, Inc., a nearly $800M public company providing global information technology consulting and outsourcing to commercial clients. Prior to Ciber, Sean spent eight years as Chief Corporate Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at IHS, helping to build a global intellectual property portfolio. Prior to that, he worked as a senior attorney at WilTel Communications, a major telecommunications firm. During his 20-year law career Sean also served at three Tulsa, Oklahoma-based law firms.

Corey Perman
Executive Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer

Corey Perman joined R1 in January 2015 and serves as Executive Vice President, Compliance & Risk. Corey leads the company’s Compliance & Ethics program, focusing on operational excellence through transparency, collaboration, education, and accountability. Corey’s team is committed to building and enhancing compliant and ethical operations through a partnership-oriented approach with employees and clients alike. Corey’s responsibilities include addressing compliance, regulatory and ethical issues across all service lines.

Prior to joining Accretive Health, Corey served as Senior Compliance Officer and Legal Counsel at Downers Grove, Illinois-based Advocate Health Care (2010-2015). Before joining Advocate, Corey practiced law in the Washington, D.C. and Chicago offices of Epstein Becker Green (2001-2009). His practice focused on health care litigation, investigations and compliance. Corey began his legal career as a Trial Attorney handling ERISA litigation for the United States Department of Labor (1998-2001).

Corey has frequently presented at local and national health care programs and conferences on compliance and business ethics topics, including at the Health Care Compliance Association’s annual Compliance Institute. Corey completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and attended law school at Washington University in St. Louis.

Wesley Arnett
Executive Vice President, Deployment

Wes joined R1 in 2004 and serves as Executive Vice President, Deployment. Wes leads a cross-functional organization responsible for efficiently on-boarding new customers and integrating our Performance Stack℠ into our customers’ organizations. He brings a deep expertise in revenue cycle, our approach, and non-profit health systems to successfully launch new engagements with clients.Prior to this role, he held various other roles, including Leader of the East Region.

Prior to R1, Wes spent five years at Stockamp & Associates and Capgemini focused on revenue cycle consulting and change management projects. He led teams of consultants in revenue cycle transformation projects at not-for-profit Health Systems, focused on operational consolidation, net revenue and cost improvement.

Wes received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University. He currently resides in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Logan Johnston
Executive Vice President, Central Operations

Logan joined R1 in 2004 and serves as Executive Vice President, Central Operations. In this capacity he leads our Central Operations and Shared Services where he is responsible for providing a scalable support infrastructure streamlining revenue cycle operations. He also has responsibility for Physician Advisory Services teams. He has held numerous other roles at our client sites across our markets over his career.

Prior to R1, Logan spent six years at Stockamp and Associates focused on revenue cycle consulting and change management projects. He led internal teams of consultants in achieving net revenue and cash improvement at client hospital sites across the country.

Logan received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University. He currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.

John Sparby
Executive Vice President, Customer Operations

John joined R1 in January 2004 and currently serves as the Executive Vice President, Customer Operations. John is the operational leader of our revenue cycle customer engagements. Prior to this role, he served in various other positions including leader of the East region, leader of the Ascension Michigan Market, and other leadership roles in our Shared Service group. He brings extensive experience in all aspects of running modern revenue cycle operations.

Prior to joining R1, John spent seven years at Stockamp & Associates managing large-scale revenue cycle re-engineering projects for primarily academic health systems achieving 3%-4% in annual P&L benefit as well as significant balance sheet improvements. Prominent clients included NY Presbyterian, Continuum Health Partners of NY, University of Iowa Health System, UC San Diego Med Center, University of Colorado Health System. Directed project teams of 12-15 professional consultants thru all aspects of 9-12 month long revenue cycle transformation projects.

John received a Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Administration and Political Science from Concordia College. He resides in Birmingham, Michigan.

Timothy Chron
Senior Vice President, Commercial Services

Tim joined R1 in 2008 and serves as Senior Vice President leading the company’s Commercial Services. Prior to his current role, Tim performed various leadership roles in both client and corporate operations. He has successfully managed client operations, negotiated strategic commercial agreements, and led sales efforts.

Prior to R1, Tim was a Managing Partner at Accenture serving as a multi-client partner and leading a large technology based business line. From a client delivery standpoint, Tim was a leader in organizational strategy and design. He assisted clients in managing their growth strategies and operational effectiveness. Tim sold and delivered some of the firm’s largest and most successful shared service consulting and business process outsourcing (BPO) projects.

Tim attended and earned undergraduate and master degrees from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and the executive program at Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management. Tim resides in Northbrook, IL with his wife and five children.
